Due to exciting business growth, our client, a leading international bank based in the heart of central London, is seeking a highly experienced Deputy Financial Controller to support the CFO in overseeing a broad spectrum of financial functions. You will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise across key areas including Management Information, Budgeting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial & Regulatory Reporting, and Financial System Maintenance. You will also be instrumental in driving initiatives to enhance departmental efficiency. Please note, this role will become a future SMF2, and candidates already holding this function highly desirable though not essential.
Duties of the Deputy Financial Controller to include:
- Actively participate in the Operational Risk Management Committee (ORMC), Financial Instrument Valuation Group (FIVG), and Single-Customer-View Working Group (SCVWG).
- Manage the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee the Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI) reporting.
- Support the production of high-quality Management Information.
- Develop and maintain system models to support robust Budgeting and Financial Planning.
- Ensure strict compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Serve as the Backup RSO of the SWIFT system.
- Adhere to all established risk control guidelines.
- Compliance & Risk Management:
- Maintain strict adherence to established risk control guidelines, with a particular focus on compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Requirements for the successful Deputy Financial Controller to include:
- ACCA/ACA qualified accountant with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience.
- Post-qualification all round experience gained within a similar institution (such as Banking or Financial Services).
- SMF2 highly desirable
- People management experience essential
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Proficiency in financial reporting systems.
- Experience with AEOI, VAT and Corporation tax for overseas branches highly desirable
- Experience of single customer view process (FSCS)
